[Asia Economy Reporter Minyoung Cha] The number of Homeplus membership club members has surpassed 300,000.

Homeplus announced on the 15th that the total number of club members reached 301,225 as of the 14th, exceeding 300,000. This represents a 153% increase compared to the same period last year (119,127 members).

Since 2018, Homeplus has been operating seven membership clubs, including ▲‘Wine in Love’ for wine enthusiasts, ▲‘Meat Club The M’ for meat lovers, ▲‘Health Club The H’ introducing various health-related products, ▲‘Baby & Kids Club’ to assist with childcare, ▲‘Maekdeok Club’ for beer aficionados, ▲‘Pappi Club’ for fashion maniacs, and ▲‘My Pet Club’ for pet families.

Homeplus provides club members with differentiated product discounts and event benefits every month. The aim is to strengthen engagement based on customer interests, fostering a friendly corporate image and increasing loyalty.

Last year, Homeplus held experiential events such as ‘Onboard Meat Party’ and ‘Maekmulier Contest,’ and involved club members in product development and marketing through regular tasting sessions. Recently, through the pet nurturing PetTube broadcast ‘Pet, Let Me Tell You,’ it captured the hearts of not only pet families but also online pet caretakers.

The sales increase effect has also been significant. During the monthly club coupon distribution periods, sales in the relevant categories rose by an average of 5-10%. In particular, during the March club coupon distribution period, over 80% of sales of promotional products came from club members, and sales of meat and childcare promotional products by club members approached 90%.

To commemorate this, Homeplus is holding a large-scale ‘Club Week’ event until the 29th. It offers up to 50% exclusive discounts on products of interest to members or up to an additional 10% discount on existing promotional prices. Health Club The H members can purchase Daedong Goryeo Sam Healthy Red Ginseng Stick, 6-year-old Red Ginseng Extract, and six types of vitamins up to 15,000 KRW cheaper, while Meat Club The M members can buy four types of Homeplus Signature frozen Korean beef bones at half price.

Baby & Kids Club members can receive up to an additional 10% discount on 55 major brand diapers, formula, and hygiene products, separate from the existing 1+1 promotions in stores, and My Pet Club members can buy 21 types of Mars Korea’s Caesar snacks at 20% off. Maekdeok Club members can get discounts on Denmark’s Carlsberg canned wood case packs, Argentina Patagonia, and Belgium Duvel bottles, while Wine in Love members can enjoy discounts on Australia’s Hardy Cabernet Sauvignon and Hardy Chardonnay.

Homeplus membership clubs can be joined by setting up clubs in the ‘MyHomeplus’ app. Homeplus plans to continue launching new clubs in various categories and to sustain Club Week, which offers exclusive monthly discounts for club members.

Kim Minsu, Head of Homeplus CX Marketing Team, said, “Beyond product quality and price, we are expanding club-targeted marketing to secure future customer bases by providing diverse cultures and experiences,” adding, “We will continue to communicate more closely to enhance customer loyalty.”
