Changwon Mayor Heo Seong-mu Visits Changwon Hospital Dedicated to COVID-19 Response for Encouragement

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Sharon] Huh Seong-moo, mayor of Changwon City, announced on the 24th that he visited the Korea Workers' Compensation & Welfare Service Changwon Hospital, a dedicated medical facility for COVID-19, to encourage the medical staff and deliver consolation supplies.


Designated as an infectious disease management hospital on the 1st of this month, Changwon Hospital has admitted and treated 136 confirmed patients transferred from Daegu and Gyeongbuk. Among them, 6 were transferred to other medical institutions, and 108 have been discharged. Currently, full efforts are being made to treat 22 patients.


On that day, Mayor Huh delivered supplies including 2,500 latex gloves, 500 disposable gowns, and 300 masks to the medical staff and listened to their difficulties.


A representative of Changwon Hospital said, "Warm encouragement during these difficult and challenging times is a great comfort, and we will focus on blocking the spread of COVID-19."


Mayor Huh expressed his gratitude for the sacrifice and hard work of the medical staff who are working day and night to treat COVID-19 patients, saying, "Please faithfully perform your role as an infectious disease dedicated hospital in the current crisis situation." He also conveyed words of encouragement to the patients from Daegu and Gyeongbuk who are fighting COVID-19, wishing them a "speedy recovery."
