LH Implements Rent Notification Service via KakaoTalk

[Asia Economy Reporter Chunhee Lee] Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) announced on the 9th that it will implement rental housing rent notifications via KakaoTalk starting from the 11th.

The KakaoTalk rent notification will be sent to the mobile phone registered under the contract holder's name, and residents can check the rent billing details by simply verifying their identity without installing any application. The notification is received as a Kakao Certified Talk message, where signing with a password or biometric authentication converts it into an electronic document that is provided to the service institution.

Using KakaoTalk for rent notifications allows convenient access to the notice even while on the move, eliminating the risk of personal information leakage or reissuance concerns due to lost notices. Additionally, if the current month's rent is paid normally via automatic transfer, a discount on next month's rent will be offered.

Applications for KakaoTalk rent notifications can be made at the LH Subscription Center or the local Residential Welfare Office. Customers who apply by the 10th of next month will be entered into a draw to receive mobile gift certificates for 2,000 people.

To facilitate customer convenience, LH will send KakaoTalk rent notifications to all residents this month regardless of whether they have applied. If the notification is viewed and consented to, the KakaoTalk rent notification service will be automatically applied.

An LH official stated, “Since electronic documents sent via Kakao Certified Talk have legal effect equivalent to registered mail, we plan to actively utilize this method as a means of sending various notices for customer convenience.”
