Wando-gun Lays Foundation for Successful Hosting of the 2021 Wando International Seaweed Expo

Exhibition Secretariat Work Report, Sharing Departmental Strategic Task Progress and Schedule

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Kyung-pil] Wando-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 6th that on the 5th, it held a work report meeting chaired by the county governor at the county office situation room, attended by the vice county governor, directors, department heads, and all staff of the expo secretariat to lay the groundwork for the successful hosting of the 2021 Wando International Seaweed Expo.

Jung In-ho, Secretary General of the 2021 Wando International Seaweed Expo Organizing Committee, stated the vision, “We will steadily prepare to lead the expo by building differentiated exhibition content to attract visitors, operating the expo venue with safety as the top priority, promoting revenue-generating projects to secure financial stability of the expo, and fostering the future industrialization of seaweed and securing international competitiveness.”

Following this, each team reported well-organized content across all areas including expo promotion strategies by team and tailored promotion by media, SNS promotion, venue operation and event management, development of content that arouses interest and attention, export consultations and hosting of international academic symposiums, attracting excellent domestic and foreign companies, and attracting domestic and international visitors.

Furthermore, all departments agreed to jointly work on attracting visitors and ticket sales, discover tasks that can be linked with the expo, establish strategic tasks by department, and create a foundation for the successful hosting of the expo.

Over 120 tasks will be shared among all departments regarding their progress and schedules, and the expo support TF team will hold detailed execution plan report meetings monthly to prepare systematically going forward.

Shin Woo-cheol, Wando County Governor, emphasized, “To successfully lead the expo, spreading the atmosphere and establishing a foundation such as promotion are very important. While the first expo spread the value of seaweed, and the second promoted the diversity of seaweed and pioneered the consumer market, the 2021 Wando International Seaweed Expo must be an industrial expo linked with the marine healing industry and prepare for the future of the seaweed industry, so all departments must cooperate and push forward.”

The 2021 Wando International Seaweed Expo will be held for 24 days from April 23 to May 16 next year at the Wando Port Beach Park area under the theme “Sea of Healing, a Hopeful Future Opened by Seaweed.”
