Candidate Kim Seong-jin: "I Will Establish a Medical Safety Net in Gwangsan"

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Kim Seong-jin, the preliminary candidate for the National Assembly from Gwangsan District, Gwangju Metropolitan City, representing the Democratic Party of Korea, announced on the 5th the seventh of the ‘7 Major Gwangsan Innovation Solutions’ to create a ‘Better Gwangsan’: ‘Establishment of a Gwangsan Medical Safety Net.’

Candidate Kim stated, “We will establish a medical safety net in Gwangsan to protect the health rights of local residents,” adding, “By attracting university hospital-level medical institutions, we will resolve the difficulties of long-distance use of tertiary medical institutions not only in Gwangsan but also in the Jeonnam region connected to Gwangju’s industrial complexes, including Jangseong, Damyang, Hampyeong, and Naju.”

Currently, Gwangsan has a population of about 400,000, accounting for one-third of Gwangju’s population, and is surrounded by Jangseong, Damyang, Hampyeong, and Naju. However, there are no regional medical centers responsible for emergency and trauma care, such as Jeonnam National University Hospital and Chosun University Hospital, in Gwangsan.
