원본보기 아이콘[Asia Economy Reporter Dongwoo Lee] LG Electronics announced on the 5th that it has launched the robot vacuum cleaner 'LG CordZero ThinQ R9 Voice'.
The new product can recognize and operate by voice on its own without the help of intermediate voice recognition devices like AI speakers. By connecting the product to Naver's AI platform 'Clova' through the LG ThinQ app, users can control the robot vacuum cleaner by voice. It supports basic commands such as "Start cleaning" and "Start charging," as well as mode settings like "Set turbo mode."
The new product offers Home View 2.0 and Home Guard 2.0 with improved image quality (860x480) compared to previous models. Home View 2.0 allows customers to monitor their home in real-time or remotely control the vacuum cleaner using their smartphones. Home Guard 2.0 detects movement inside the house and supports notification functions by sending captured photos to users, making it useful for security purposes when away from home. Additionally, it provides various daily information such as weather, news, time, and traffic by linking with Clova.
LG Electronics applied a 5-stage fine dust blocking system to this new product. This system minimizes the dust sucked in by the vacuum cleaner from being released outside the product. The new product has been certified by a U.S. testing agency to block 99.97% of dust particles sized 0.3 to 0.5 micrometers (μm, 1 μm is one-millionth of a meter) from being emitted.
The new product uses artificial intelligence technology to autonomously understand indoor structures and learn the types of obstacles to clean effectively. The Smart Turbo function recognizes carpets, corners, and dusty areas to increase suction power and adjusts the brush rotation speed and driving speed according to the situation. Equipped with the Smart Inverter Motor P9, it delivers powerful suction and offers a maximum cleaning time of up to 90 minutes.
Ryu Jae-cheol, Vice President and Head of the Living Appliance Business Division at LG Electronics H&A Business Division, said, "With a voice recognition robot vacuum cleaner that offers more convenience and powerful cleaning performance, we will provide differentiated value to our customers."
