According to the Pocheon Police Station in Gyeonggi Province on the 3rd, at around 4:43 PM on the 2nd, an SUV driven by A (37) crossed the center line on a two-lane road in Seongdong-ri, Yeongjung-myeon, Pocheon-si, and collided head-on with an oncoming SUV.
As a result of the accident, A and the 8-year-old twin sisters riding in the back seat of the victim's SUV died. In addition, the twins' parents, who were in the driver's seat and passenger seat of the SUV, were seriously injured and are currently receiving treatment in the intensive care unit at Uijeongbu St. Mary's Hospital.
A was identified as an unlicensed driver whose license was revoked last year due to drunk driving.
It was reported that when the police drew blood from A's body at the scene, there was a smell of alcohol.
The police have secured black box footage and are investigating the exact circumstances of the accident.
