Lotte Department Store Offers Seollal Gift Set Packaging Service Using Traditional Materials

[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Lotte Department Store is offering a gift wrapping service in collaboration with 'Hoho-dang (好好堂)' until the 22nd in celebration of the Lunar New Year holiday.

This gift wrapping service is prepared for customers who are concerned about wrapping non-standardized products such as local specialties and regional products. The wrapping service primarily uses reusable bojagi (traditional Korean wrapping cloth) as the main material, considering not only beauty but also eco-friendliness.

Additionally, gifts not purchased at the department store can be wrapped. Customers visiting the event venue can have their items wrapped regardless of whether they purchased products at the department store. The wrapping fee ranges from 10,000 to 20,000 KRW depending on the size of the item. Additional charges apply based on the customer's choice of bojagi material and decorations.

Meanwhile, from the 10th to the 22nd, a short-term event 'Sisi Hosi X Hoho-dang' will be held at Lotte Department Store's Sogong-dong main branch. Various traditional products such as Lunar New Year sets and home meal sets planned directly by 'Sisi Hosi', as well as Hoho-dang's wine gift sets, cards, dapan (traditional tea sets), and yongdonbo (money envelopes) will be showcased.

'Sisi Hosi' plans to open an official store in the first half of this year and will provide a wrapping service applying its self-developed designs. 'Sisi Hosi' is a new concept brand with the theme of a 'modern market with proposals for joyful everyday life,' offering customers products related to food, clothing, and shelter based on four concepts: time, day, month, and year, tailored to customers' rest times, various anniversaries, seasons, and other themes.

Seo Su-jeong, team leader of Sisi Hosi at Lotte Department Store, said, “Since these gifts are sent to precious people, we prepared this event for customers who want to carefully wrap their gift sets.” She added, “We hope everyone has a happy Lunar New Year with gift sets enhanced in dignity through traditional wrapping methods.”
