[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] Park Sung-chul, President of KEPCO KDN (photo), emphasized on the 2nd, "We must accelerate the development of new businesses through energy ICT convergence."
In his New Year's address, President Park stated, "Let's create innovative growth-type new businesses to secure future growth engines."
He began by saying, "As the government's energy transition policy is being fully implemented and with the hydrogen economy activation roadmap, strengthening competitiveness in response to the clean energy transition is becoming increasingly important."
He continued, "The wave of digital transformation centered on big data and artificial intelligence is increasingly penetrating deeply into our lives."
He added, "In the eco and digital transformation environment, we must create new value not only for our company but also for our clients, and furthermore, lay the foundation to grow into a national enterprise."
President Park expressed hope that this year will be one to expand future growth engines by strengthening renewable energy businesses and security businesses, creating new ICT businesses for power generation companies, and succeeding in overseas expansion.
He also proposed strengthening the status and role as a specialized energy ICT public enterprise and leading the creation of social value to become a trusted public enterprise for the people.
Finally, he pledged to spare no investment and effort for a 'zero-accident, zero-injury' workplace and urged everyone to have a thorough safety awareness and sense of responsibility under the motto "People come first."
