The Gyeongnam Office of Education announced on the 7th that it will operate a “Comprehensive Situation Room for the College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT)” to prepare for the upcoming 2026 academic year CSAT, which is just days away.

The provincial office will set up the main situation room in its auditorium starting at 1 p.m. on the 10th. In addition, situation rooms will be established at the education support offices in the seven test districts across the province, launching a full-scale test management system.

Each situation room will oversee the overall test operations, including the setup of test centers and the implementation of effective traffic management measures.

To ensure the safe arrival of test-takers on the day of the CSAT, the office has requested that government offices, public institutions, and businesses with more than 50 employees in the province adjust their work start times to after 10 a.m.

Additionally, support teams will be formed to cooperate with relevant agencies in preparation for emergencies such as earthquakes, heavy snowfall, and power outages.

The office will also implement traffic management measures in cooperation with the Gyeongnam Provincial Police Agency and police stations in all cities and counties where the 105 test centers are located.

On the day of the CSAT, emergency transport vehicles will be provided, and measures will be taken to control traffic and minimize noise around test centers.

Test-takers will be informed in advance about important guidelines regarding cheating, and portable metal detectors will be distributed to each test center to strengthen inspections.

A reporting center for cheating will also be operated within the provincial office of education.

Test-takers are only allowed to bring analog watches with hour and minute hands (and second hands) into the test centers. Watches with communication functions such as Bluetooth or with electronic displays such as LCD or LED screens are prohibited.

Electronic devices such as e-cigarettes and earphones with communication functions are also not allowed.

Lee Ilman, Director of Career Education, stated, “We will maintain close communication and cooperation with all relevant agencies, education support offices in test districts, and schools hosting test centers to ensure the smooth administration of the CSAT. We will do our utmost to create a stable testing environment so that test-takers can do their best with peace of mind.”
