Accompanying Kendrick were his son, Lumas Kendrick Jr., former President of the Arkansas Korean Association Jung Naomi, and Im Moon-taek, President of the Hanam City Veterans Association.

The group held a meeting with the Mayor of Hanam in the mayor’s office and watched an introductory video about Hanam City. Afterwards, they met with Hanam’s Korean War veterans to exchange greetings, and then toured the Union Tower basic treatment facility, thoroughly examining its processes and overall operations. The delegation expressed their intention to benchmark Hanam City’s basic treatment facility management system and apply it to projects in Arkansas.

The Mayor of Hanam stated, “I sincerely welcome your visit to Hanam City,” and added, “I hope that cultural exchanges with Arkansas will expand further and that youth cultural exchanges will become more active to foster a global perspective.”

Lumas Kendrick, the Korean War veteran, remarked, “Everything has changed dramatically compared to when I first came to Korea during the Korean War. The development of Hanam City is remarkable. The introductory video was also very impressive, and after returning home, I will share many stories about Hanam City with the Mayor of Little Rock.”

Hanam City signed an economic cooperation MOU with the State of Arkansas in March last year, and has continued active exchanges, including a planned return visit by an Arkansas delegation to Hanam City in September 2025.
