The 1st Bangrim-Gyechon Classic Kimchi Festival will take place for 11 days from November 13 to 23 at the Gyechon Welfare Center area in Bangrim-myeon.

This festival is designed as a new type of event where the taste of winter-kimchi-making-meets the sensibility of classical music. Hosted by the Bangrim-Gyechon Classic Festival Committee, it offers families, couples, and friends the opportunity to make kimchi together and create cherished memories.

All ingredients used at the festival are of reliable quality, featuring 100% Pyeongchang-grown highland cabbage, domestically produced agricultural products, and HACCP-certified seasonings such as Shinan sea salt aged for two years.

Participating visitors will be provided with salted cabbage and seasonings, making it an easy kimchi-making experience where they simply need to mix the ingredients on site.

The participation fees are as follows: 155,000 won for 20kg of cabbage kimchi (14kg of salted cabbage + 3kg of seasoning), and 125,000 won for 10kg of young radish kimchi (7kg of salted young radish + 3kg of seasoning). Applications can be made through Naver Store or the festival committee’s office.

Joo Gukchang, Chairman of the Bangrim-Gyechon Festival Committee, said, “This festival offers a special time to experience the warmth of rural life and the joy of kimchi-making amid the melodies of classical music in Gyechon Art Village. We hope visitors will create unique memories where music and tradition come together.”
