원본보기 아이콘On November 6, Minho Choi, Mayor of Sejong City, met with around 30 citizens, including parents raising children, at the Saerom Community Welfare Center to share childcare policies and discuss future directions for development.
The meeting was organized in collaboration with the Chungbuk-Sejong Branch of the Korea Population, Health and Welfare Association and the Sejong Family Center, aiming to directly hear the voices of parents raising children and to explore childcare support policies tailored to local conditions. The event began with a viewing of videos featuring the "100 Fathers Group" and the "Shared Parenting Center" activities, followed by parents sharing their childcare experiences. This was succeeded by a discussion and Q&A session on childbirth and childcare support policies.
In particular, citizens with infants and toddlers expressed satisfaction with Sejong City's environment for raising children, and applauded Mayor Choi for incorporating parents' feedback directly into city policies after listening to their stories on site.
Previously, based on suggestions made during the childcare policy roundtable held on November 23 last year-specifically, the idea of "creating an environment where fathers can grow together with their children"-the city expanded the "Fathers' School Program" from one session to four sessions this year.
