Chain Collision Involving 10 Vehicles Including Car and Motorcycle in Central Daejeon... 1 Dead, 15 Injured

At approximately 1:50 p.m. on November 8, a Tesla sedan driven by an individual in their 40s, identified as A, was involved in an accident on a road in Doryong-dong, Yuseong-gu, Daejeon, colliding consecutively with a motorcycle and eight other vehicles.

According to the police, the Tesla sedan crashed into vehicles that were either moving slowly or stopped at a red light, causing a chain collision involving the motorcycle and several cars.

As a result of the accident, the motorcycle driver was killed, and 15 people who were in the vehicles sustained various injuries and were transported to the hospital for treatment.

No signs of alcohol consumption were detected in A at the scene; however, the police plan to conduct a blood test to determine whether alcohol or drugs were involved.

Due to crowds gathering for a nearby festival over the weekend, traffic congestion occurred on surrounding roads during the accident response process.

The police are investigating the exact circumstances of the accident based on black box footage and other evidence.
