According to the police on the 7th, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency issued a restriction notice in response to a report by the conservative group Liberty University, which planned to hold a rally on December 3 in the Sejong-daero area of Jongno-gu, Seoul.
The police cited several reasons for the restriction notice: concerns about traffic disruption, the potential for clashes due to provocative remarks and slogans, and the proximity to the U.S. and Japanese embassies in Seoul.
In particular, the police informed the organizers that certain sections of the march route include the Jongno and Cheonggye Tourism Special Zones and areas adjacent to Gyeongbokgung Palace, which are frequented by foreigners and tourists. The police emphasized that abusive, derogatory, or hateful expressions targeting specific countries or nationals must not be used.
The Yongsan Police Station in Seoul also issued a restriction notice for a conservative group rally scheduled for December 3, citing concerns about traffic disruption in response to rally reports near Samgakji Station and Noksapyeong Station within its jurisdiction.
