"$15 Million Bounty Offered"... U.S. Places Bounty on Hameney
Rewards Offered to Informants via State Department Program
Key Leadership List Released...Up to $10 Million
The administration of former U.S. President Donald Trump has placed a bounty of up to 10 million dollars (approximately 15 billion won) on Moztaba Hameney, the Supreme Leader of Iran, as well as other key figures of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
According to Yonhap News on the 13th (local time), the U.S. State Department’s “Rewards for Justice” program, which collects information on terrorism, announced, “We will offer up to 10 million dollars to those who provide information about key leaders of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and its affiliated units.”
The first person named among those targeted by the bounty is Moztaba Hameney, the Supreme Leader of Iran. Others included on the list are Asghar Hejazi, Chief of Staff to the Supreme Leader; Yahya Rahim Safavi, Military Advisor; and Ali Larijani, Advisor to the Supreme Leader and Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council.
Additionally, Esfandiar Momeni, Minister of the Interior, and Esmail Khatib, Minister of Intelligence and Security, have also been identified as bounty targets. The State Department further requested information on other individuals whose names and faces are not public, such as the Secretary-General of the Defense Committee, Advisors to the Supreme Leader, Chief of Military Affairs in the Supreme Leader’s Office, and IRGC commanders.
The State Department stated, “These individuals command and control various IRGC units that plan, organize, and execute acts of terrorism worldwide,” adding, “The IRGC plays a central role in Iran’s use of terrorism as a key tool of state policy.”
Previously, in April 2019, the U.S. government designated the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as a Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO). In addition, the U.S. Department of the Treasury designated the IRGC and its elite Quds Force as ‘Specially Designated Global Terrorists’ (SDGT) for providing support to terrorism.
On the same day, the official X (formerly Twitter) account of “Rewards for Justice” also posted a similar bounty announcement. The post said, “Do you have information about these Iranian terror leaders? Provide us with information. You may receive a reward and relocation assistance.”
