Mayor Park: "Promoting Through Offline Hubs"
Busan Metropolitan City is partnering with Kyobo Book Centre to launch a collaborative project aimed at promoting municipal affairs and supporting the Children's Reporters Corps.
On March 10, at the International Protocol Office of City Hall, Busan City held a 'Business Collaboration Ceremony for Municipal Media Promotion and Support for the Children's Reporters Corps' together with the Southern Business Division of Kyobo Book Centre, according to an announcement made on March 11.
Won Youngil, Spokesperson for Busan City, and Kwon Yoonho, Head of Kyobo Book Centre Southern Business Division, attended the ceremony and discussed cooperation plans.
This collaboration was established to improve accessibility to Busan City newsletters by utilizing large bookstores, which are frequented by many citizens, and to support the reporting activities and competency development of the Children's Reporters Corps.
Busan Metropolitan City and Kyobo Book Centre will jointly promote the establishment of offline promotional hubs for municipal media and provide customized benefits and programs for members of the Children's Reporters Corps.
Distribution stands will be installed at four Kyobo Book Centre stores in the Busan region (Busan, Centum City, Kyungsung University–Pukyong National University, and Haeundae Pop-up Store) for three types of Busan City newsletters: 'Busan City News,' the 'English Newspaper,' and the children's newspaper 'Big-i Dorandoran.' These newsletters will be distributed regularly, with efforts to attract new subscribers.
Additionally, the second class of the Children's Reporters Corps, launching this year, will receive a 10% discount on book and stationery purchases at Kyobo Book Centre's offline stores. Tailored collaboration programs including author lecture coverage and writing articles on book trends will also be operated, supporting children's literacy development and reporting activities.
This collaboration is linked to the inauguration ceremony of the second class of the Children's Reporters Corps. Busan City plans to set up a promotional booth for the Kyobo Book Centre partnership at the inauguration event, which will be held at the main auditorium of City Hall on March 14, to introduce the details of the collaboration.
Kwon Yoonho, Head of Kyobo Book Centre Southern Business Division, stated, "It is meaningful that Kyobo Book Centre can participate in helping children broaden their perspectives through books and grow into outstanding opinion leaders. We will actively cooperate to ensure that information about Busan City's municipal affairs is delivered even closer to the daily lives of citizens."
