"Ready to Welcome Holiday Travelers" Damyang County Fully Implements Comprehensive Lunar New Year Plan
11 Key Areas Including Transportation and Medical Services
Damyang County in Jeollanam-do has established a "Comprehensive Plan for the Lunar New Year Holiday" and begun full-scale implementation so that county residents and visitors returning home can spend a safe and comfortable holiday.
On February 11, Damyang County announced that it will operate an emergency duty system consisting of 11 teams and 160 personnel, with the Comprehensive Situation Room serving as the control tower, in order to respond swiftly to various crisis situations that may arise during the Lunar New Year holiday period.
This comprehensive plan includes 11 key priority tasks: strengthening disaster and safety management measures; resolving civil complaints and managing overall situations; providing transportation services and conveniences for returning visitors; managing cleaning and the environment; stabilizing prices and supporting vulnerable groups; and reinforcing medical and quarantine response systems.
First, to prevent disasters and fires, the county has strengthened pre-holiday safety inspections of multi-use facilities, traditional markets, and major transportation facilities. During the holiday period, it plans to operate the Comprehensive Situation Room 24 hours a day to respond immediately in case of emergencies.
For transportation convenience, the county has prepared special traffic measures for major roads and areas where congestion is expected, and has completed securing public parking lots and improving guidance systems. A separate cleaning task force will also be operated to create a pleasant environment.
The county will also concentrate its administrative capacity on price stabilization. It will frequently check the supply and price trends of popular holiday goods and, through the Comprehensive Price Stabilization Task Force, provide guidance and inspections on the implementation of the price-tagging system and country-of-origin labeling. At the same time, it plans to foster an inclusive holiday atmosphere with no one left out by visiting and supporting vulnerable groups and inspecting social welfare facilities.
An emergency medical treatment system will also be maintained to minimize gaps in medical services. During the holiday period, the county will designate and operate emergency medical institutions, on-call medical institutions, and holiday duty pharmacies, while continuously carrying out quarantine activities to prevent infectious diseases.
