[Exclusive] Former Nvidia and Tesla Executive Minwoo Park, Now Hyundai Motor President: "Commercialization and Internalization Are Urgent"

Minwoo Park, AVP (Advanced Vehicle Platform) Head (President) at Hyundai Motor Group and CEO of FortyTwoDot, who recently joined Hyundai Motor Group following his tenures at Tesla and Nvidia, stated that in order to lead the autonomous driving technology race, it is essential to quickly launch stable services to the market.

In a message sent to all employees on January 21, Park said, "From now on, leadership will not be determined simply by 'who developed the technology first,' but by 'who scaled up products that anyone can use with confidence, more quickly and reliably in the market.'"

Park explained that for Hyundai Motor Group to lead the autonomous driving industry, it must simultaneously pursue both commercialization and internalization of technology. He said, "We need to accelerate commercialization to deliver value that customers can immediately experience," and added, "In the long term, we must secure fundamental competitiveness by establishing a physical artificial intelligence (AI) framework and a data flywheel that will become the foundation of all of Hyundai's intelligent mobility."

He went on to say, "These two objectives are never in conflict. Internalized technology should support market execution, while data and feedback from the market should, in turn, drive further internalization, creating a virtuous cycle."

To achieve this, he emphasized the need for the experience, expertise, and collective intelligence of all employees. He said, "Please set aside the notion that a single leader can change everything, even for a moment," and continued, "I am merely the conductor of the orchestra; if every musician does not move in perfect harmony, we will never be able to create beautiful music."

He added, "Your help in the right place at the right time is desperately needed," and expressed his hope that the mindset of 'No one fails alone, we will succeed together' would serve as the starting point for the team.
