Lieutenant General Scott Winter of Australia Appointed as New Deputy Commander of the United Nations Command
Lieutenant General Scott Winter of the Australian Army was inaugurated as the Deputy Commander of the United Nations Command (UNC) on January 9, 2026.
The UNC announced that it held a deputy commander inauguration ceremony at its headquarters at Camp Humphreys in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province, on the same day. This marks the fifth time that a deputy commander of the UNC has been appointed from a country other than the United States. The predecessor, Lieutenant General Derek Macaulay of the Canadian Army, held a departure ceremony on this day.
