Spacious Interior and Overwhelming Cargo Capacity Praised
"Comfortable Travel Even for Six Passengers"
Hyundai Motor Company's electrified flagship SUV, the Ioniq 9, has demonstrated its excellence by outperforming competing models from BMW, Volvo, and Polestar in a comparative evaluation conducted in Germany.
Hyundai announced on December 12 that the Ioniq 9 was ranked first, surpassing its competitors, in a recent electrified SUV comparison test conducted by the leading German automotive magazine "Auto Zeitung."
Auto Zeitung evaluated four models-the Ioniq 9, BMW iX, Volvo EX90, and Polestar 3-based on criteria such as body design, driving convenience, powertrain, dynamic driving performance, as well as environmental friendliness and efficiency.
The Ioniq 9 received high marks for offering the best-in-class interior space, thanks to its dedicated electric vehicle platform, E-GMP. Auto Zeitung commented, "It is a car in which even six people can travel comfortably," awarding high scores for its spacious and pleasant interior compared to the other models in the comparison.
Additionally, the Ioniq 9 was highly praised for its convenient space utilization, as the second-row seats feature electrically adjustable leg rests, the third-row seats can be folded with an electronic switch, and the cargo space is described as overwhelmingly superior to that of its competitors.
Auto Zeitung also highlighted the Ioniq 9's extensive connectivity features, the optimal placement of its infotainment system, fast response times, logically organized and easy-to-understand menus, as well as the ability to transfer content to the vehicle via wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and wireless charging capabilities.
Other positively evaluated features included the UV-C sterilization storage compartment, the Bose sound system with active road noise control, and essential connectivity services such as navigation that incorporates charging station waypoints.
The Ioniq 9 has also been recognized for its outstanding safety, having earned the highest five-star rating from Euro NCAP and the "Top Safety Pick Plus" rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) in the United States.
A Hyundai representative stated, "We are delighted that the Ioniq 9 has been recognized for its advanced technology and product competitiveness in a comparison test by a prestigious German magazine," adding, "We will continue to do our best to deliver a world-class electrified experience to our customers."
