On December 7 (local time), the Russian Ministry of Defense issued a statement announcing that its forces had taken control of two locations: Riune in the Donetsk region of eastern Ukraine and Kucheriivka in the Kharkiv region.

The ministry also reported that it had carried out airstrikes on military airfields, fuel storage facilities, and other targets across 140 areas in Ukraine. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, overnight attacks utilized precision weapons, Kinzhal hypersonic missiles, and long-range drones to strike Ukrainian transportation facilities, fuel and energy infrastructure, and drone manufacturing plants. The ministry claimed these attacks were in response to Ukrainian acts of terrorism targeting civilians inside Russia.

According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, Ukrainian forces reportedly lost 480 personnel and six vehicles, including armored fighting vehicles (AFVs), over the past 24 hours.
