Democratic Party Supreme Council Meeting Held in Busan on the 14th
"Prosecution Opposing Reform Through Collective Defiance"
"Obstructing the Success of the Lee Jaemyung Administration and Eradication of Insurrection Means Supporting Insurrection"

At the on-site Supreme Council meeting held at the Democratic Party's Busan City Committee conference room in Busan on the 14th, Jeong stated, "No matter how much I think about it, it is difficult to understand," adding, "The public's desire to eradicate the remnants of insurrection runs deep, and I cannot dispel the suspicion that Chief Justice Cho Hee-dae's judiciary is acting as an obstacle." He continued, "I hope this is not a backlash against efforts to clear up the legacy of insurrection."

Jeong also commented on the prosecution, which is protesting the decision to refrain from appealing the Daejang-dong case, saying, "I cannot help but suspect that the prosecution is also opposing prosecutorial reform through collective defiance and other means," and emphasized, "Swift action must be taken, including removal from positions, personnel measures, and referral for disciplinary action."

Jeong remarked, "It is said that reform is harder than revolution. There is always resistance to reform," and added, "If resistance to reform is not swiftly suppressed, I believe that the forces opposing reform will become increasingly active."

He went on to say, "The tasks facing our era, for those living in the Republic of Korea in 2025, are the eradication of insurrection and the success of the Lee Jaemyung administration," and added, "Those who hinder the success of the Lee Jaemyung administration and the eradication of insurrection can rightfully be called forces that support insurrection."

In conclusion, Jeong stated, "The Democratic Party will also focus all its capabilities on swiftly suppressing resistance to this reform."

Meanwhile, on the same day, the Democratic Party proposed a partial amendment to the Prosecutors' Office Act and a bill to abolish the Prosecutors' Disciplinary Act, which would allow prosecutors to be dismissed as a disciplinary measure in accordance with the State Public Officials Act.
