The Gyeongnam Office of Education announced on November 11 that it has developed and distributed a self-diagnosis program for the 'iBook,' a student smart device that has been provided free of charge to all students from third grade in elementary school to third grade in high school in the province.
This program, named 'iBook Malfunction? Immediate Solution,' was developed to reduce the workload of teachers during classes using the iBook and to help students resolve device issues on their own.
The provincial office of education analyzed 1,222 cases of malfunctions reported to the iBook call center last year and incorporated into the program those types of recurring software errors that students can resolve themselves.
As a result, students are now able to diagnose and resolve common issues such as volume malfunction, camera not working, screen freezing, internet disconnection, charging failure, power issues, and usage time errors by following the guidance procedures provided.
Koo Hyunsook, Director of the School Innovation Division, said, "We hope this program will help reduce the burden on teachers during classes using the iBook and promote the activation of a digital-based learning environment."
