Apple TV+'s "Severance" Season 2 has won the Golden Bird Award, the highest honor at this year's Seoul Drama Awards.


The Seoul Drama Awards Organizing Committee announced on the 16th that director Ben Stiller, who helmed the series, was selected as the recipient of the Golden Bird Award at the 20th annual ceremony. The Golden Bird Award is the most prestigious accolade given at the Seoul Drama Awards to the most talked-about work or individual of the year.


"Severance" is a thriller that tells the story of employees whose work and personal identities are separated through a memory-severing procedure. Produced by Fifth Season, the U.S. subsidiary of CJ ENM, the series swept eight categories including acting and technical awards at the 77th Emmy Awards, earning international acclaim.


The Grand Prize in the International Competition category went to the Netflix series "A Boy's Time." The series, which depicts juvenile crime in a single-take format, also won Best Director and Best Actor. The Best Actress award was shared by Cate Blanchett for "Disclaimer" and Kim Minha for "Pachinko" Season 2.


In the Long-form Drama category, Turkey's "The Good and the Bad" won Best Drama; "Pachinko" Season 2 took Best Miniseries; and "The Son Is Dead" won Best Single-Episode Drama. Among Korean dramas, Netflix's "Trauma Center" and "When Life Gives You Tangerines" received the K-Drama Best Drama awards. Joo Jihoon from "Trauma Center" won Best Actor, while IU from "When Life Gives You Tangerines" took home Best Actress.


The Seoul Drama Awards is an international event honoring television dramas from around the world, sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Seoul Metropolitan Government. The awards ceremony will be held at 5 p.m. on October 2 at KBS Hall in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul.
