Gapyeong County Raises Living Wage by 320 Won Compared to This Year

Gapyeong County in Gyeonggi Province announced on September 9 that the "2025 Living Wage Review Committee," held on September 8, has set the 2026 living wage at 11,210 won per hour. This decision aims to support the financial stability of workers and promote both qualitative improvements in the workforce and welfare enhancement.

The committee comprehensively reviewed factors such as Gapyeong County's fiscal independence, the 2026 minimum wage increase rate, and the average wage increase rate for workers. In particular, after reflecting the government's announced 2.9% increase in the 2026 minimum wage, the committee decided to raise the living wage by 320 won from this year's rate of 10,890 won.

The confirmed 2026 living wage is 890 won higher than the 2026 minimum wage of 10,320 won per hour as announced by the Ministry of Employment and Labor. Based on a monthly standard of 209 working hours, this amounts to a monthly salary of 2,342,890 won.

The newly determined living wage will be applied from January to December 2026. Eligible recipients include temporary workers employed by Gapyeong County and employees at county-funded and county-invested institutions who meet the conditions for the living wage.
