Hwacheon County, Gangwon Province, began accepting applications for agricultural and specialty products to be exhibited at next year's festival through each township office starting on September 8. The application deadline is October 2.

Applicants must have their address registered in Hwacheon and must have been producing agricultural or specialty products in the region for at least one year. Each farm can apply for up to three items.

Vendors selling primary processed agricultural products are required to submit documentation verifying registration as a Hwacheon-based business.

As the products will be sold at the Sancheoneo Festival, strict quality control standards will be applied.

Fundamentally, regulations such as the Food Sanitation Act, the Livestock Products Sanitation Control Act, and the Act on Labeling and Advertising of Agricultural and Fishery Products will be enforced. The in-house quality control team will conduct investigations and reviews to determine eligibility for exhibition and oversee ongoing management.

From October to December, Hwacheon County plans to conduct on-site inspections of applicant farms to monitor their preparation process.

The quality control team will be responsible not only for overseeing the cultivation and management of agricultural products and verifying production, but also for conducting on-site quality inspections, checking storage conditions, performing final delivery inspections, and carrying out routine checks of displayed goods as part of ongoing post-management.

The county plans to prioritize the display of high-quality agricultural and specialty products at the sales booths and to set them apart for consumers to easily choose.

The Hwacheon Sancheoneo Festival provides an excellent opportunity for farmers to participate in direct sales and increase their income during the off-season.

When visitors purchase admission tickets for activities such as ice fishing, they will receive agricultural and specialty product vouchers of a certain value, which can be redeemed at designated sales booths within the festival grounds for Hwacheon-grown agricultural and specialty products.

The sale of agricultural and specialty products at the festival is mutually beneficial, as tourists can purchase products at affordable prices while farmers can boost their sales during the off-season.

Choi Moonsoon, the governor of Hwacheon County, stated, "We will supply only the best agricultural and specialty products at the festival so that both visitors and farmers can leave with a smile."
