Gyeongnam Information University is currently operating a program to train company employees on how to utilize foreign workforce.
On August 8, Gyeongnam Information University announced that, under the direction of the RISE Project Group, it had conducted training for executives and staff of companies located in the Mieum Industrial Complex in Gangseo-gu, Busan, on August 5. The training focused on "Strategies for Utilizing Foreign Workforce and Visa Systems."
This training took place at the Bugok Stainless training center within the Mieum Industrial Complex. A total of 15 representatives from companies and organizations such as Renox, Sungjin Steel, Dongseo Heat Treatment, Busan Research and Development Special Zone Headquarters, and the Busan Regional Office of the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency participated. The training covered policies and systems for stable employment and systematic supply strategies for foreign workforce, shared the university's strategies for developing foreign talent, and discussed support measures for companies.
The lecture centered on visa systems related to foreign employment, employment eligibility criteria, directions of institutional changes, and practical considerations for implementation. There was also a highly interactive Q&A session based on various real-world cases, which was well received by participants.
The Busan Research and Development Special Zone Headquarters and the Busan Regional Office of the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency, which attended the event, shared cooperation measures to ensure the stable settlement of foreign workforce and efficient management for local companies. They also expressed their intention to actively cooperate with the RISE Project to establish workforce recruitment strategies through industry-academia collaboration and to strengthen the university's corporate support functions.
Gyeongnam Information University plans to strengthen on-site problem-solving training for employees and customized support for companies, not only in the Mieum Industrial Complex but also in collaboration with companies and related organizations in other local industrial complexes. In addition, the university will further expand its foundation to support the stable settlement of international students and to connect foreign workforce recruitment.
Lim Junwoo, Vice President for Industry-Academia Cooperation and head of the RISE Project Group, emphasized, "We will continue to provide advanced, practical training that reflects the needs of local industries, so that companies can enhance their strategic workforce management and response capabilities."
