Victim Emerges Three Days After Private Sanction
"Victim's Side Never Agreed to Disclose Perpetrator's Personal Information"

The YouTube channel 'Narak Bogwanso,' which has been exposing the identities of the perpetrators in the Milyang middle school girls' gang rape case, has sparked controversy by creating innocent victims just three days after imposing private sanctions through identity disclosure.

The owner of a nail shop in Miryang, who was mistakenly identified as the perpetrator's girlfriend and attacked by netizens, stated that she is unrelated to the incident and has taken legal action. <br>[Photo by Naver Cafe]

On the 5th, 'Narak Bogwanso' posted on its YouTube community, "The nail salon owner was attacked because of a community post I uploaded," adding, "Regardless of the circumstances, I acknowledge my mistakes and am prepared to face attacks and fall into ruin. I will accept any insults gracefully."

On the same day, a person identified as A, who runs a nail salon in Milyang, posted on an online mom cafe, stating, "I am not the girlfriend of B, who is mentioned in connection with the Milyang sexual assault case," and appealed, "Due to the ongoing witch hunt, my acquaintances and my business are suffering significant damage despite having no relation to the case."

B was revealed by Narak Bogwanso on the 3rd as one of the perpetrators in the Milyang case and was reportedly working at a luxury car showroom in Gyeongnam before recently being notified of dismissal by the company. Following the disclosure of B's identity, unverified claims surfaced that his girlfriend A runs a nail salon in Milyang. Some netizens directly mentioned the business name or flooded the nail salon's online reviews with malicious comments.

In response, A stated that she has submitted a petition and initiated legal action. She said, "The reason for attaching the (petition) photo is to accurately disclose the situation and reveal that I am an innocent victim of a witch hunt," adding, "I will thoroughly handle all parts of the information shared, including YouTube videos and comments mentioning the business name. I have collected all the materials."

"Victim's side never consented to the disclosure of perpetrators' identities"

Since the 2nd, Narak Bogwanso has been sequentially revealing the identities of the perpetrators involved in the Milyang case and announced plans to disclose the identities of all 44 individuals related to the case. In response, the Korea Sexual Violence Counseling Center, one of the victim support organizations for the Milyang sexual assault case, posted on social media (SNS), "The victim's side was completely unaware of this until Narak Bogwanso posted the first video about the 'Milyang gang sexual assault case' and was never asked for prior consent," adding, "After the video was uploaded, we requested its removal on June 3. We have not agreed to the disclosure of all 44 identities."

"The victim's side expresses confusion and concern over the sudden unilateral video upload and the race for views, which are far from respecting the victim's daily recovery and wishes," the statement continued, urging, "Narak Bogwanso should delete and correct the notice claiming that the victim's family consented and immediately rectify the misleading situation."
