Hallyu star Jang Keun-suk’s advertisement to promote his Japanese album has been honored with a special award by the Japanese Press Association [JPA].

Jang's advertisement, which was printed on Japanese newspaper The Asahi Shimbun on May 30, received the Excellence Award at the 55th Day of Newspaper Advertisements ceremony held at Tokyo Prince Hotel in Japan last Friday. According to his promoter YTree’s press release sent Tuesday, Jang made the ad with his full-length photo to promote his first Japanese studio album “Just Crazy” back in May. The poster helped him sell a whopping number of 500,000 copies of the album, the officials said.

"Jang's full-length portrait left a strong visual impression by using the whole space for his very first printed advertisement,” an official of the Japanese Press Association explained.

In the meantime, Jang's next schedule for "2012 Jang Keun-suk Asia Tour 'THE CRI SHOW 2'" is the Shenzhen leg opening in China on Saturday.
