Top female idols Girls' Generation and boy band B1A4 saw their latest Japanese releases sit within the top five spots of Oricon's chart on Thursday, according to the website on Thursday.

Just a day into its release, Girls' Generation's new Japanese single "Paparazzi" has moved 42,525 copies and clinched the second spot on Oricon's daily singles chart, following behind top Japanese artist KAT-TUN's latest studio effort, "TO THE LIMIT." "Paparazzi" is the group's follow-up to the repackaged version of their first full-length Japanese album, "GIRLS' GENERATION," released in June, 2011. The successful album was certified double platinum in Japan that year.

Meanwhile, five-member boy band B1A4 also had a notable outcome with their Japanese debut single "Beautiful Target," which went on sale on Wednesday.

The newbie artists secured the No. 4 spot on the same chart with the record that includes "Chu Chu Chu," original Japanese track "Ready to go" and "Bling Girl," written by member Jinyoung. In the meantime, WM Entertainment officials noted that B1A4 will celebrate the release of their debut single with a hand-shaking session in Tokyo on June 30 and in Kawasaki on July 1.
