Five-member girl group f(x) is gearing up to heat up the summer with a new release, according to their agency SM Entertainment.

A PR rep with SM told 10Asia over the phone on Friday that f(x) is to release a new record in almost a year, sometime in June or July."The girls are working real hard in putting the final touches to their album and working on their choreography," the official explained.

The girls' last album in the country was "Hot Summer," which is the repackaged version of their first full-length album "PINOCHHIO" dropped in June 2011.

The album, which includes the title track "Hot Summer," has produced many popular songs such as "Danger" and "Gangsta Boy." The group f(x), composed of members Victoria, Sulli, Luna, Krystal and Amber, f(x) made their debut in September 2009 with their first single "LA chA Ta." The girls followed it up with songs "Chocolate Love," "Chu~♡," "NU ABO" and “Danger.”

Outside of their group activities, the girls have focused on their individual activities such as appearing on variety programs, acting in the small screen, hosting televised music shows and playing in musicals.
