Latest releases by top Korean boy band Big Bang and girl group 2NE1 have ranked within the top ten on Japan's Oricon weekly chart.

On Thursday, data on Oricon's official website revealed that Big Bang's "ALIVE,” which went on sale in the country on March 28, sold 52,987 copies to sit at the No. 3 spot on the weekly albums chart. Meanwhile, their labelmates 2NE1's new Japanese album "COLLECTION," which was released on the same day, moved 22,224 editions to score the No. 5 spot.

"ALIVE" contains a total of 10 songs including two newly introduced tracks, "Feeling" and "Ego," as well as the Japanese version of their latest tunes "FANTASTIC BABY," "BLUE" and "BAD BOY" and a bonus track "HARU HARU."

2NE1's record includes their past Japanese releases "I AM THE BEST," "UGLY," "GO AWAY" and the Japanese version of their dance tunes "FIRE" and "I DON'T CARE." The two idol groups recently took stage at 2012 SPRINGROOVE, Japan’s music festival, where they performed alongside popular Japanese and international artists, including American party-rock duo LMFAO, French DJ David Guetta and songstress Pixie Lott.
