KARA Kang Jiyoung, Choshinsung Park Geonil to appear in Korea-Japan series

Girl group KARA member Kang Jiyoung and boy band Choshinsung member Park Geonil will appear in a drama co-produced by Korea and Japan.

An official with KARA's agency DSP Media told 10Asia over the phone on Wednesday that the two have been shooting the show, tentatively titled "Rainbow Rose," in Korea since the beginning of November."Rose," a melodrama that revolves around one man and three women, will be directed by Kim Soo-ryong of SBS TV series "Lie to Me" (SBS, 2011).

The show has yet to be allotted a time slot and broadcaster in Korea although it is aiming for showing on Japan's TV Tokyo around April of next year.

Kang, 17, is the youngest member of her pop quintet which debuted in 2007 and has also been one of the most successful K-pop acts in Japan.Park, 24, is a member of his six-member group which debuted in 2007 as well. They have led a particularly successful career in Japan with all ten of their single albums having placed within the top six slots of the prestigious Oricon chart.
