Boy band SS501 member Kim Hyung-joon held a showcase for his first solo album in Japan, informed his agency S-Plus Entertainment on Sunday.

S-Plus revealed through its press release yesterday that over 3,000 Japanese fans showed up the event held at Shinagawa Prince in Tokyo aimed at promoting Kim’s solo album set for release next month and marking the launching to his official fan club there. During the four-hour event, Kim hosted a talk show about “Cafe In,” a musical he starred in, which he prepared with video clips and a Q&A session and also performed to SS501’s song “URMAN” and J-pop song Exile’s “Tada Aitakute,” among others.

An official of S-Plus Entertainment added that Kim will also hold a similar showcase in Korea and is planning on an extensive tour around Asia in the near future.

Kim made his debut as one of the members of the popular boy band SS501 in 2005, producing several hit songs such as “Warning,” “My Girl,” “Love Ya,” and “Love Like This.” Late last month he signed with major Japanese recording company AVEX to lead an individual music career in Japan as well. ※ Any copying, republication or redistribution of 10Asia's content is expressly prohibited without prior consent of 10Asia.
