KARA's first full-length Japanese album "Girl's Talk" has maintained its position within the top five slots of the prestigious Oricon's weekly music chart for five consecutive weeks, according to its official website.

"Girl's Talk" came in at No. 2 on Oricon's daily music chart on the day after its release in November 2010 and steadily remained in the top five on the weekly chart since January 17, making them the first foreign artist in over five years, after Romanian trio O-ZONE, to achieve the feat. The girls have broken another record, becoming the first foreign artist in five years, after American pop group Destiny's Child, to sell over 300,000 copies of their album in Japan -- KARA has sold over 310,000 copies of "Girl's Talk" to date.

They are also the first Korean girl group to have their album “Girl’s Talk” win platinum disc status which is handed to records or DVDs that sell over 250,000 copies.

Last week, KARA flew into Japan to resume shooting their TV series "URAKARA," a 12-part show on TV Tokyo's Drama 24 channel where they appear as spies with the mission to win the men of their dreams. KARA made a debut with their first album "Blooming" in 2007 and is well known for their hit songs "Mister," "Wanna" and "Lupin."

The group debuted in Japan in August of last year after signing with Universal Music Sigma, a branch of Universal Music Group, with their first Japanese single "Mister."

They were named best new artist of the year at the 25th annual Japan Gold Disc Award, have placed at No. 1 on the Oricon chart's listing for the most successful new artist of 2010, and Oricon also named them the most promising artist of 2011.

The girls will release "KARA BEST CLIPS," featuring music videos of their hit songs, on February 23.
