KBS “Smile Again” takes 2nd win on weekly TV chart

Weekly TV rankings remained the same from last week with KBS week day series “Smile Again” coming first followed by SBS drama “Secret Garden” and KBS variety show “Happy Sunday” as of January 3 to 9.

According to the surveys by both Total National Multimedia National Research (TNmS) and AGB Nielsen Media Research (AGB), KBS series “Smile Again” scored the highest on TV charts last week, posting an average viewership rating of 31.7 percent and 32.4 percent on the respective charts. “Smile Again,” a family drama starring Ji Chang-wook, Do Ji-won and Oh Ji-eun, is about the life and love of cook-turned-short track speed skater Dong-hae who struggles to make ends meet while trying to protect his mentally challenged mother despite the ordeals set up by his old girlfriend who wishes to hide her past from her rich in-laws.

SBS series “Secret Garden” came next, posting an average viewership rating of 25.6 percent on TNmS' chart and 29.4 percent on AGB’s chart.

The drama starring Ha Ji-won and Hyun Bin is a fantasy romantic series about two people in love coming across the unusual incident of switching souls after which they start to understand each other better. KBS’ variety show “Happy Sunday,” which remains the nation’s most watched entertainment show, claimed third place for the second consecutive week, marking an average score of 21.7 percent TNmS' survey and 24.5 percent on AGB’s poll.

Other programs that made the top 10 on TNmS last week were KBS drama “My Love My Family,” KBS 9 o’clock News," MBC variety shows “Golden Fishery” and "World Changing Quiz,” SBS show “Amazing People Caught On Camera,” KBS comedy show “Gag Concert” and MBC variety show “Infinite Challenge."

AGB's data included the above shows as well except for “Gag Concert” and instead, listed SBS series “Sign."
