Andrea Bocelli to hold concert in Korea


Italian pop tenor Andrea Bocelli will hold a concert in Korea in May, according to concert promoter Hyundai Card.

The opera singer will be returning to Korea for the first time in two years for the "Hyundai Super Concert IX-Andrea Bocelli" to be held May 2 at the Jamsil Indoor Stadium in Seoul.For the show, the Suwon Philharmonic Orchestra and civic chorale led by Eugene Kohn will join the stage with Bocelli while Grammy award-winning artist Heather Headley, soprano Sabina Cvilak and flutist Andrea Griminelli will perform alongside the pop opera singer.

Andrea Bocelli made his debut in 1994 with album "Il mare calmo della sera," also the name of his title track, which rose to the top of Italian charts.

He has released numerous albums which have made him an international star and has several hit numbers including his duet song "Time to Say Goodbye" with English soprano Sarah Brightman.Tickets for Bocelli's concert will go on sale at 4 P.M. on Wednesday through online reservation site Interpark (www.interpark.co.kr).
