Idol-turned-actress Hwang Jung-eum will return to the big screen set to hit the theaters next year.
Hwang will take part in director Jang Moon-il’s new project “A Woman like a Pig” [translated title], opposite to “Gentleman’s Dignity” star Lee Jong-hyuk, her agency SidusHQ said in a press release Monday.
The “Golden Time” actress will play a woman named Jae-hwa, who lives in a coastal village and raises pigs for her living. The rom-com movie tells the story of Jae-hwa fighting for her crush with two other women.
Hwang burst into the entertainment industry as a member of a girl group Sugar with Ayumi, Haeseung and Sujin in 2002.
After leaving the group in 2004, She has successfully expanded her career into acting with roles in popular dramas “High Kick 2” (MBC, 2009), “Giant” (SBS, 2010) and “Golden Time” (MBC, 2012) and movies "Wish" (2009) and "Death Bell 2: Bloody Camp" (2010).
