Jang Keun-suk, Yoona's TV series sold to 12 countries

KBS' TV series starring Hallyu star Jang Keun-suk and Girls' Generation's Yoona has garnered much attention from overseas buyers, seeing its distribution rights sold to 12 countries.
After being pre-sold to Japan before its premiere in Korea, the show's promoter Y Tree Media announced in a press release that Jang and Yoona's starrer "Love Rain" has been sold to China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Cambodia, the Americans and Europe.
The agency also explained that it was one of the most sought after series during the content market, MIPTV, which took place in Cannes, France in April.
"The actors and the staff of 'Love Rain' were extremely excited to hear the news that the distribution rights to the series was sold to so many countries," an official with the show's production company was quoted as saying.
Meanwhile, "Love Rain" will begin its air on Japan's cable channel KN TV starting May 26 and on Fuji TV in July.
In "Love Rain," helmed by Yoon Suk-ho, Jang plays both Seo In-ha living in the 1970s and his son Seo Jun living in 2012, while Yoona takes on the role of Kim Yoon-hee and her daughter Jung Hana.
Also, the veteran actor and actress, Jung Jin-young and Lee Mi-sook, play the older version of the aforementioned characters.
