Korean film "Hello Ghost" will open in theaters in China today, according to the picture's promoter on Thursday.

A press release by NEW stated that "Ghost" will open in some 4,000 theaters throughout China, a high number for a foreign pic.

This will make it the third Korean movie to open in the country this year, following action pic "The Man from Nowhere" starring Won Bin and animated film "Leafie, A Hen Into the Wild."

"Ghost,” starring Cha Tae-hyun, Kang Yae-won, Lee Moon-soo, Ko Chang-seok and Jang-young-nam and Cheon Bo-geun, is a fantasy comedy about a guy who starts seeing four ghosts -- a pervert, a chain smoker, a crying woman and a child -- that will not leave his side until he grants them their wish.

The film brought in over 3.4 million viewers in Korea after its release in the country in late December last year.
It then showed in other countries throughout Asia including Taiwan, Singapore, Indonesia and Vietnam and is set for a remake in Hollywood.
