“My Love My Family” at forefront of TV chart for 5th week

KBS weekend drama “My Love My Family” remained the nation’s most watched show for the fifth week in-a-row as of the third week of June, according to the findings by the two media research companies on Monday.

“My Love My Family,” about the troubled love situation of several couples in one family, was ranked No. 1 on the weekly TV chart after posting an average viewership rating of 23.3 percent on Total National Multimedia Statistics' (TNmS) poll and 23.5 percent on AGB Nielsen Media Research’s (AGB) survey, remaining steadfast in its 20-percent range rating since first premiering on January 1 this year.

A family drama, starring Lee Jae-ryeong, Park Joo-mi, Kwon Hae-hyo, Moon Jung-hee and others, "My Love My Family" has been highlighting on the illicit love between cousins (though one of them was adopted) in its recent episodes.

SBS weekend series “New Gisaeng Story” remained on the No. 2 spot for second straight week, after scoring average viewership ratings of 19.4 percent and 22 percent on TNmS’ and AGB’s chart, respectively.

The show starring Lim Soo-hyang, Sung Hoon and Han Hye-rin tells a story about love, marriage and family secrets against the backdrop of the traditional house of courtesans.

Another weekend series, MBC’s “Twinkle Twinkle,” was ranked at third on both TV charts after each posted an average viewership rating of 18.3 percent on TNmS' poll and 20.4 percent on AGB's chart.

The drama starring Kim Hyun-joo, Lee Yu-ri and Kim Seok-hoon, centers its plot on a rivalry between two women who belatedly find out that they were switched at birth and a man whom they both fall in love with.

Other shows that yielded high marks on both TV charts include KBS variety show "Happy Sunday," KBS daily series "Bittersweet My Life," MBC variety show "World Changing Quiz," MBC drama "The Greatest Love" and KBS drama "Babyfaced Beauty."
