Korean singer-turned-actress Sung Yu-ri will make her comeback to small screen after a two-year hiatus with a role in an upcoming KBS TV series, according to her agency King Kong Entertainment on Wednesday.

King Kong announced in a press release that Sung will play the female lead in the new KBS drama tentatively titled "Nannies." She is set to take on the role of No Soon-keum, an individual who is not afraid of the world and works as a nanny to the children of some of the richest people.

"I feel that I'll can have fun and display some characteristics through No Soon-keum which I wasn't able to show through my other roles," Sung was quoted as saying.

"Nannies," helmed by director Hwang Eui-kyung and written by scenarist Seo Sook-hyang, is scheduled to air every Wednesday and Thursday nights starting May 11 after current show "The Thorn Birds" finishes its run.

Sung, who debuted as a member of the former four-member girl band Fin.K.L in 1998, took to the small screen several years later to star in several TV series including "Thousand Years of Love" and most recently "Swallow the Sun".
She made her debut on the big screen in the movie "Rabbit And Lizard" alongside actor Jang Hyuk and recently finishing shooting the upcoming film tentatively titled "Noona."
