TVXQ to make appearance as duo on Japanese TV

Korean idols TVXQ will make their appearance on a Japanese music show for the first time as a duo, according to Japan's Sankei Sports Shimbun on Tuesday.

According to Sankei Sports and other Japanese media, TVXQ will take the stage of Asahi TV's "Music Station" on January 28 for the first time in 13 months to perform their latest hit song "Why (Keep Your Head Down)."

"To all our Japanese fans, we have returned. We are sorry to have kept you waiting but you can expect the best from our new music," the members of TVXQ were quoted as saying.

Meanwhile, SM Entertainment labelmates Girls' Generation will also perform on the show, singing the Japanese version of their song "Run Devil Run" and both the girls and TVXQ will take part in a talk portion of the show.

TVXQ, formerly composed of five members Hero Jaejung, Mickey Yuchun, Max Changmin and U-Know Yunho, enjoyed high popularity throughout Asia as one the leading dance groups in K-pop scene since their debut in 2004.

However, after disputing with agency SM Entertainment over the unfairness of their 13-year exclusive contract, Jaejoong, Yuchun and Junsu halted their activities as TVXQ and instead formed trio JYJ.

TVXQ is now a duo group led by two remaining members Changmin and Yunho have been busy promoting "Why (Keep Your Head Down)" which has topped a number of online and offline music charts since release in early January.

They will also join the rest of the SM artists for the "SMTOWN LIVE in TOKYO" held at the Yoyogi National Stadium in Tokyo on January 25 and 26.
