Korean actor So Ji-sub [51K]
Korean actor So Ji-sub will make his return to the big screen, after two years, as the male lead in an upcoming romantic drama.
A press release from his agency 51K Entertainment announced on Tuesday that So will play the lead in the film tentatively titled "Only You," in which he plays a boxer who falls in love with a girl who begins to lose her eyesight.
"Only You," which will crank in during the latter half of this year, is helmed by the critically acclaimed director Song Il-gon whose works include "Flower Island," "Spider Forest" and "Picnic." The female lead has yet to be cast.
"We have a lot of faith in both So Ji-sub and director Song Il-gon since they have worked on many dramas and films," an official from the film's producer was quoted as saying.
So, 33, is one of the most popular actors in Korea and has appeared in numerous TV dramas and movies since his debut in 1996. He became a household name in Korea and Asia with his roles in 2004 hit series "Something Happened in Bali" and "I'm Sorry, I Love You."
