The '2025 Daejeon Bread Festival' will be held in Daejeon, which has established itself as the nation's leading 'city of bread'.

The bread festival will take place from October 18 to 19 in Sojedong Cafe Street and the Daedongcheon area of Dong-gu, Daejeon, with the participation of 102 bakeries from across the city.

Celebrating its fifth edition this year, the '2025 Daejeon Bread Festival' is hosted and organized by the Daejeon Tourism Organization, with support from Daejeon Metropolitan City, Dong-gu District Office, the Daejeon branch of the Korea Bakery Association, and Sung Sim Dang. The festival will feature a variety of programs, including official ceremonies, a bakery collection, market and hands-on programs, celebratory performances, purchase events, and additional activities.

Main events include: the opening ceremony; a 10-meter giant roll cake cutting performance; the 'Baekppang Baekjung' collection featuring 102 of Daejeon's most renowned bakeries; the 'Bakery 100 Gallery' signature bread exhibition by participating bakeries; a local small business flea market; the 'Bakery Studio' hands-on bakery experience in collaboration with local universities; the 'Bread Makers' bakery-themed collaboration with local artists; celebratory performances such as 'Haha's Music Concert', brass bands, a cappella bands, and performances by local artists, along with various other events.

This year, the festival venue has expanded to roughly twice the size of last year's, and the number of participating bakeries has increased from 81 to 102, resulting in a larger-scale event. The festival will be open from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m., with the opening ceremony scheduled for 6 p.m. on October 18.

Last year, the festival drew nationwide attention as Daejeon's representative autumn event, attracting 140,000 visitors. This year, even more visitors are expected to attend the festival.

Yoon Sung-guk, CEO of the Daejeon Tourism Organization, stated, "This year, the festival venue has been expanded, and the number of participating bakeries has grown to over 100. We are preparing a wide range of side events, including attractions, hands-on experiences, and performances. We hope that many bread lovers will visit the festival to enjoy the flavors and charm of Daejeon and create lasting memories. We will do our best to ensure that Daejeon continues to thrive as the nation's top city of bread and makes a significant contribution to revitalizing the local economy."
