On August 9, foreigners living across the country gathered at the Daejeon 0 O’Clock Festival to fully showcase their talents and creativity.
The Daejeon Foreign Residents Integration Support Center, which operates under the Daejeon Social Service Agency (Director Kim Yunhee), hosted the “2025 National Foreigners Talent Show (Daejeon Global Talent Show)” on the stage at Daejeon Station. A total of 87 teams representing 31 countries from 27 regions across Korea participated in the event.
After the preliminary rounds, 12 teams advanced to the finals and competed enthusiastically in a variety of genres, including singing, dancing, traditional performances, and Korean language speaking. The venue was packed with more than 2,000 foreigners and visitors from all over the country, and the performances continued for about two hours amid enthusiastic cheers from the audience.
The opening performance featured a congratulatory trot stage by Jasper Saraban from the Philippines, who won the grand prize last year. Next, a Mongolian traditional performance team delivered a spectacular traditional show, and a youth team from Kaohsiung, Taiwan?Daejeon’s sister city?captivated the audience with a dynamic performance set to K-pop music.
The grand prize went to the CN Dance Team from Vietnam, who impressed both the audience and the judges with a confident and passionate K-pop dance performance.
The first prize was awarded to Nurlatifah Hana Abdun from Indonesia, while the excellence prize went to the Xin chao Vietnam Team from the Jeungpyeong County Family Center.
The encouragement award was given to Kim Karen from Sejong City, and the popularity award went to Enkhtaivan Sanchir from Mongolia, who delivered a fluent Korean language speech on the theme of "rice."
The CN Dance Team, who won the grand prize, said, "We are very happy to have showcased our skills and won the grand prize at the National Foreigners Talent Show. There are not many competitions like this for foreigners, so we are grateful to Daejeon City for providing this opportunity."
Kim Insik, Director of the Daejeon Social Service Agency, stated, "This event was a meaningful occasion where diverse cultures and talents came together in one place to foster understanding and respect for each other. The values of a global community that Daejeon aspires to were vividly demonstrated on stage, and the passion of the participants combined with the support of the audience made this festival shine even brighter."
