Woman in Her 70s Dies After Falling While Hiking at Baegundae, Bukhansan
A woman in her 70s died in a fall while hiking on Bukhansan. According to the police and fire authorities on November 8, at around 2:15 p.m. the previous day, a 70-year-old woman, identified as Ms. A, fell to her death from a rock face while hiking at Baegundae on Bukhansan in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province. The Dobongsan·Bukhansan Mountain Rescue Team and the Goyang Rescue Team in Gyeonggi Province were dispatched to the scene after receiving a report that someone appeared to have fallen between rocks while taking photos. However, when the rescue team arrived at the scene, Ms. A was already in cardiac arrest. The rescue team performed CPR and transported her to the hospital, but she was ultimately pronounced dead. The police are investigating the exact circumstances and cause of the accident.

Seventy, Including Insurance Planners, Referred for Participating in Multi-Level Financial Fraud
Seventy individuals, including insurance planners, have been referred to the prosecution on charges of participating in a Ponzi scheme (multi-level financial fraud) orchestrated by a private lending company. The Seoul Gangnam Police Station announced on the 7th that on October 31, it had referred 58 people, including insurance planners, to the prosecution without detention on charges of unauthorized fund-raising, and an additional 12 people on charges of both unauthorized fund-raising and fraud. Some of the insurance planners referred to the prosecution were found to be affiliated with a financial services company that is a subsidiary of a major life insurance firm.
