Hanwool Materials Science announced on November 17 that its subsidiary, JKM (JK Materials), has secured an order to supply functional film materials for flexible OLED panels to Company C, a major Chinese OLED panel manufacturer. This follows a previous order from Company B, marking consecutive contract wins and reflecting JKM's steady expansion of its global customer base.

OLEDs are used in various smart devices due to their design flexibility and low power consumption. Their ability to operate for extended periods makes them a next-generation display solution for large-scale data collection and learning environments required for artificial intelligence (AI) applications.

JKM's film material is a key component that prevents micro-particles and scratches from adhering to the surface of OLED panels, thereby improving yield rates. After years of development and reliability testing, it has received mass production approval from global panel manufacturers.

JKM is expanding its lineup of film products optimized for each customer's specifications and manufacturing processes. By focusing on yield improvement and process efficiency, the company is proactively responding to global demand.

JKM is also preparing for mass production of flexible optical adhesive film (FOCA). This material is a critical component for foldable and flexible OLEDs and has passed all tests for transmittance, adhesion, and thermal stability under harsh conditions.

Notably, JKM has successfully passed final repeated bending tests, which are required by each panel customer and involve hundreds of thousands of cycles. The company is currently in discussions with Company H, the largest smartphone manufacturer in Greater China, regarding mass production application. Approximately 1,000 square meters of pilot production products have already been shipped to optimize mass production conditions, with full-scale production targeted for the first quarter of 2026. JKM also plans to accelerate customer diversification, including domestic panel makers.

A company representative stated, "JKM will continue to strengthen its position as a key supplier of film materials in the OLED industry and plans to expand its business into the thermal management film sector to address heat dissipation issues in AI servers and data centers. As the advanced functional film market for panels and IT devices is growing rapidly, we will enhance our global competitiveness through proactive technology development and customer-tailored solutions."
