It was organized to celebrate the completion of an independent cultural hub that Namyangju Cultural Center had long aspired to establish. On this day, the city toured the main facilities of the center, shared the development process, and honored the donors who contributed to cultural advancement.
Namyangju Cultural Center is a leading institution dedicated to preserving and passing down the region's history and culture. Until now, it had operated on the second floor of the village community center without an independent building. The newly opened Namyangju Cultural Center has been created as an open cultural space for citizens and local cultural figures, and is expected to serve as a symbolic hub for regional cultural promotion.
The building was transformed from the former Geumgok-dong Community Center into a complex cultural platform for citizens. The facility consists of a basement and five floors above ground. The first floor features a pilotis structure with a parking lot. The second floor houses the office of the cultural center, the third floor contains a multipurpose seminar room and a medium seminar room, the fourth floor is home to the Namyangju Cultural Foundation office, and the fifth floor accommodates the Geumgok Pureun Dream Library and a seminar room.
Mayor Joo Gwangdeok stated, "Just as the slogan engraved at the entrance on the second floor says, I believe that Namyangju Cultural Center will truly become a 'space that opens the path to culture.' I hope it will grow into a strong foundation that walks with citizens, shares with future generations, and blossoms the refined culture of Namyangju."
